FRESNO, Calif. — The Fresno community is mourning the tragic loss of 41-year-old Martha Hernandez and her 9-year-old son, Adrian Hernandez, who were killed early Monday morning in a devastating hit-and-run crash. Authorities confirmed the incident occurred around 2 a.m. at the intersection of McKinley Avenue and Fresno Street.
According to the Fresno Police Department, the Hernandez family’s 2020 Dodge Durango was struck by another vehicle, a Honda Pilot, which ran a red light before the collision. The impact caused the Durango to leave the roadway and enter a nearby canal. Martha Hernandez was pulled from the water and transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. Hours later, rescue crews recovered her son, Adrian, confirming that both had perished.
